Matthew McClain is a school counselor in rural Northeast Colorado, with experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels since 2005. Prior to counseling, he worked in telecommunications and as a reporting analyst. Since 2017, he has served as the Executive Director for the Colorado School Counselor Association (CSCA), after holding various leadership roles within CSCA and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) since 2008. Matthew has presented on topics including leadership, situational awareness, and social-emotional learning, and is passionate about relationships, school counselors, and systemic change for the benefit of children. He and his wife have been married for 27 years and have three children.
